Mendy’s first projects were launched through the “‘ Arts of Banat Mendy” network, focusing on creative writing about the experiences of refugee women in Europe.

More than two hundred women participated in these workshops, and some of them wrote about aspects of their refugee experiences. The aim is not only for women to heal through writing but also for documentation and to raise their voices, showing that they are not just numbers but women with dreams and aspirations for a dignified life.
