[10.12.2024] Krieg und Friedensperspektiven sudanesischer Jugend in Wien

On December 10th, 2024, we, Voice of Mendy, hosted the symposium “Krieg und Friedensperspektiven sudanesischer Jugend in Wien” in Vienna, an event that addressed the pressing issues affecting Sudanese youth. Through insightful discussions, we explored the current situation in Sudan, the role of Sudanese youth in peacebuilding, and the potential for creating stronger networks between Sudan and Europe.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who attended and supported the event. Special thanks go to our distinguished speakers, Hanin Eisa and Osman Kheir, for their thought-provoking contributions, and to our moderator, Ahmed Osman, for steering the conversations with great skill.

A heartfelt thank you to Ebo Krdum, the talented Sudanese-Swedish musician, whose music added a unique and unforgettable atmosphere to the gathering.

We are also incredibly grateful to Hala Maghawry, whose photography captured the essence of the event and helped preserve these important moments. Additionally, a special mention to those who generously contributed to the food for the gathering—your support helped make the event even more enjoyable for everyone.

Our sincere appreciation also goes to Radio Orange for their valuable support in promoting the event and helping us reach a wider audience.

This event aimed to raise awareness of the current situation in Sudan, build a network for Sudanese youth in Europe, and foster dialogue and cooperation between Sudan and Europe. Thanks to all of you, we have taken meaningful steps toward achieving these goals.

As the event concluded with food and networking, we hope it has sparked lasting connections and inspired further action for peace and solidarity.

Once again, thank you to everyone involved. We are proud to have worked on this project in collaboration with Organisation Mendy for Peace, Culture and Diversity Management, the Vienna Institute for International Dialogue and Cooperation (VIDC), and with the generous support of Österreichische Entwicklungszusammenarbeit. We look forward to continuing this important work together!
