Our Namesake Mendy comes from the princess from the Nuba Mountains in Sudan who fought against colonialism together with her father Sultan Ajbana. Unfortunately, the pioneering role that Mendy played in the fight against colonialism has not been mentioned in historiography. Thus, the name Mendy was chosen as a symbol for every forgotten invisible woman who is marginalised and ignored by official historiography.
Mendy for Peace Culture and Diversity Management aims to instill a culture of peace and diversity management and is interested in the Horn of Africa in general and Sudan in particular.
Its projects focus on education and critical knowledge for young people of all genders. Mendy provides a wealth of services from Workshops to collaborations with other organisations to achives these goals.

The Organisation is lead by Dr. Ishraga Mustafa Hamid, a Women’s Rights Activist, Winner of the Golden Award of Merit of the Province of Vienna in 2020, and Co-Founder of the Black Women Community.
